Training for Adult Volunteers at Camp Arequipa (Marin's Girl Scout Day Camp)

TRAINING

AREQUIPA DAY CAMP ADULT TRAINING
ALL volunteers will need to attend required training, whether you are a full- or part-time volunteer. The purpose of day camp training is to prepare each staff member with sufficient leadership skills, knowledge of the program, understanding of child development and confidence to do the job. Training is fun, easy and teaches you valuable skills while bonding with your other unit members.

A total of SIX hours of training in TWO TRAINING SESSIONS is required of ALL full- and part-time volunteers, as well as program aides. The trainings posted below are MANDATORY. Directors also may require session-specific trainings.

1. MEET YOUR DIRECTOR & UNIT and
CAMP SKILLS TRAINING SUNDAY, , 10am- about 4pm
New volunteers and program aides spend the entire day; experienced volunteers can attend their session-specific Meet Your Director & Unit section:
» Session III - Meet Your Director & Unit: 10-11am. Additional training for new volunteers will be in the afternoon.
» Session II - Meet Your Director & Unit: 11am-12noon. Training for new volunteers will be in the afternoon.
» ALL Session I - Meet Your Director & Unit: 12noon-1pm. Additional training for new volunteers will be in the afternoon.
Of course, experienced volunteers are welcome to stay the entire day and get to know your "team!"

2. SITE SAFETY - 10am-2pm SUNDAY, JUNE 24 - for Session I or
SUNDAY, JULY 8 - for Session II or
SUNDAY, JULY 15 - for Session III
You come ONLY the day before the session you are working.
